Did Oprah make you ugly cry last night too? πŸ™‹

Oprah for president.

By Claire Wasserman

I’m still reeling from Oprah’s Golden Globes speech last night. Whether or not you watched, undoubtedly you woke up to a newsfeed full of #Oprah2020. I knew she was going to be amazing, but I didn’t expect to be as emotional as I was. I definitely ugly cried.

My other favorite moments were Debra Messing calling out E! News (while *on* E! News) for not paying their female anchors as much as their male anchors, and Natalie Portman calling out the “All-male nominees” for Best Director. DANG. It really is the year of speaking truth to power.

I’ll leave you with the ending of Oprah’s stunning speech:

“So I want all the girls watching here, now, to know that a new day is on the horizon! And when that new day finally dawns, it will be because of a lot of magnificent women, many of whom are right here in this room tonight, and some pretty phenomenal men, fighting hard to make sure that they become the leaders who take us to the time when nobody ever has to say ‘Me too’ again. Thank you.”

Now go get paid.
