I never negotiated my salary. I had $40,000 in debt and a panic attack in a supermarket checkout line. I started inviting women to sit in a circle and tell the truth about money, and I turned that circle into Ladies Get Paid.
Then men’s rights activists sued me for discriminating against men. I crowdfunded more than $116,000 and got a book deal out of it.
I came out at 30 and left my husband for the woman who’s now my wife. I got a bipolar II diagnosis. And when my son was a week old, doctors found life-threatening congenital heart defects.
So I know what it’s like to look successful on paper and feel lost inside. I teach what I learned the hard way, in steps you can use this week.
